Zune HD - Release date When?

So I'm a bigtime Zune fan.  My brothers and friends all pitched in about a year ago and got my a Zune 8GB for a bachelor party gift, and I've been hook ever since.  So when I heard the new Zune HD is on its way, I had to find out when I could get my hands on this new gem.

Problem is, tho, that nobody seems to know yet when it's coming out.

I've been searching around the web, trying to find at least some sort of supposed date of release, but to no avail yet.  Geeksmack.net has it at September 8th.  Engadget HD, if you search deep enough, has it around the same time as Windows 7 releases, which would put it around mid-October.  CNET Reviews simply uses the vague time period of "fall of 2009" as a release date.

So when is it?  Anybody have any ideas?  Post in the comments!!!

Is Apple Brewing a Netbook?

Micheal Scalisi from PC World just posted a little article slapping around Apple for the rumored design of a 10-inch tablet / netbook.  The supposed design includes a 10-inch multi-touch screen, 3G wireless broadband access and the iPhone OS.  Basically, it would be a really big iPod Touch.

This is news to me, though I don't really keep up as closely on what Apple is up to as I do Dell, HP, IBM, and the other PC makers... not to mention Microsoft.  I don't hate Apple... actually on the contrary, I, as so many others of my generation, grew up on Apple IIe's and Oregon Trail.  The thing is, I don't use Apple products in my daily life (I'm a Zune owner, even), so I don't really have a lot of reason to watch Apple.

Scalisi is in somewhat the same boat as I, not an Apple-hater.  He does, however, hate on the design rumors like it beat up his little brother.  In his opinion, nothing good can come of the proposed tablet-PC / giant iPhone, and it should be avoided like the plague.  He feels it's going to be a niche product.  Who knows?

Here's the link to his article if you're interested.  Also, comment on what you think!

Windows 7 RC - I think I'm in Love.....

So I've been messing around with the release candidate for Windows 7, and I think I might marry it... well... if my wife doesn't mind.

It's incredibly good, even for (and perhaps especially for) a release candidate, which you can expect to still have a few bugs.  There have been a few minor glitches, including come file-copy mishaps (no lost data, just weirdness), but beyond that, I'm really very happy with it.

Is anybody else out there using Win7 RC?  Any opinions or insights?
